Sara Cholette: Rooted Muse Jewelry Inspired by Oregon's High Desert

Sara Cholette is a silversmith based in the High Desert of Central Oregon, where the vast, rugged landscape profoundly influences her work. Surrounded by the vibrant colors and textures of the mountains, desert, and sky, she draws inspiration from the warm reds of sunsets, the muted tones of sagebrush, and the raw beauty of the land. Her jewelry reflects this connection, combining earthy metals like copper and brass with silver and semi-precious stones to create pieces that feel rooted in the natural world.

Since 2004, Sara has been crafting jewelry, blending her technical training with a passion for hands-on creation. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a BFA in metalsmithing and graphic design, she approaches each piece as a way to explore form, texture, and color while remaining grounded in the earth beneath her. The satisfaction of seeing an idea come to life in her hands is a deeply fulfilling process, one that brings her joy and a sense of discovery.

Outside the studio, Sara enjoys spending time with her family—homeschooling her children, attending sports games, and exploring the outdoors. Through it all, she is grateful for the blessing of creativity and the opportunity to glorify God in the work of her hands.
